About Elafonisi Beach
Elafonissi Beach is one of the most famous beaches in Crete, known for its pink sand, crystal-clear waters and exotic scenery. Located on the southwest coast of the island, it feels like a tropical paradise with shallow waters, soft sand and a peaceful natural landscape.
Beyond its beauty, Elafonissi is also a protected natural area of great ecological importance. It is part of the Natura 2000 network and is home to rare plants, sand dunes and small bird species. Visitors are kindly asked to respect the environment and avoid removing the pink sand from the beach.

Good to Know
Elafonissi is best from May to October. July and August are the busiest months, while May, June, September and early October are usually more relaxed.
During the summer season, visitors can usually find sunbeds, umbrellas, small beach bars, restrooms and basic changing facilities.
Bring swimwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, water and comfortable sandals. A camera is also recommended because the landscape is beautiful.
There is a parking area near the beach, but it can get busy in high season. Arriving earlier in the day is recommended.
