About Preveli Beach

Preveli Beach is one of the most unique destinations in Crete, located on the island’s south coast. What makes it truly special is the combination of the Libyan Sea, a freshwater river and one of Europe’s few natural palm forests, creating an extraordinary landscape unlike anywhere else on the island.

The river flows through the palm grove before reaching the sea, forming a beautiful lagoon where visitors can enjoy both fresh and salt water. Because of its rare ecosystem, Preveli is protected under the Natura 2000 network, preserving its remarkable natural environment for future generations.
